Basic configuration

To install a basic configuration, select the credentials used by the ARM service to request the Active Directory.

ARM requires an SQL database to store the data. In the basic configuration, specify the following:

  • SQL Server Name
  • SQL Server Instance
  • SQL Server authentication method and credentials

Create a basic ARM configuration

  1. Start the Configuration application.
  2. Click Basic Configuration.

  3. Enter the ARM server credentials.

  4. Enter the SQL Server credentials.

See SQL Server Express and ARM for additional information.

SQL Server Express is no longer included in the ARM installation package. You can integrate SQL Server Express manually — including the appropriate pre-configuration — when you run the ARM installer and configure the setup procedure.

  5. Switch the database recovery mode.

  6. (Optional) Reclaim additional hard drive space by shrinking the database and database logs.

See SQL Server database maintenance for instructions.

  7. Complete and save the basic configuration.
