Request directories

You can order new directories using the GrantMA self service portal. This feature is useful for companies that follow restrictive policies for directory creation.

SolarWinds recommends allowing the creation of directories up to the level three or four below the share only after requesting and approving.

  1. Log in to the web client.

    You can also log in as a current windows user. A user name and password is not required.

  2. In the toolbar, click Cockpit.

  3. In the Requests screen, click Create New Requests.

    The Create New Requests screen is displayed. Here, you can:

    • Use the Search field to locate a resource.

    • Click a resource in the Resource column and navigate to the resource.

  4. Under Resources, click Request next to the targeted resource.

  5. Configure the new directory.

    1. In the Directory name field, enter a name for the new directory.

    2. (Optional) In the Resource owners of new directory field, you can specify a resource owner If the resource owner configuration is activated.

    3. Click Add to shopping cart.

  6. In the toolbar, click Shopping cart.

    ARM displays the order basket with your requests. Click to cancel a request.

  7. (Required) Enter a comment that describes this request—for example, a ticket number.

  8. Click Request.
