Move objects in Active Directory

You can use ARM to move objects, user accounts, group accounts and computers from one organizational unit (OU) into another. This task may be required if a user moves location or new group policies when applicable. ARM documents all movement among OUs.

1. Log in to the Access Rights Manager application.

2. On the toolbar, click Accounts.

3. Use the Search field to locate the targeted object.

   

4. Right-click the object and select Move object.

   You can also perform this task in the Accounts and Resources views.

   

5. In the Move objects window, configure the options.

   1. If required, change the credentials that will be used to move the object.

      

   2. Select the target path.

      

   3. (Required) Enter a comment about moving the objects in Active Directory.

      

   4. Click Immediately to start the procedure or select another option.
