Connection security settings
This section describes the security details of the ARM server and clients.
-
Log in to the web client as an ARM administrator.
-
In the toolbar, locate Settings.
If Settings is not available, verify that you are logged in as an ARM administrator.
If Settings is available, click Settings > Connection security to access the Connection Security dashboard.
Connection Security dashboard
The Connection Security dashboard lists various clients who submitted a connection request to the ARM server. The dashboard also displays the client certificate details, including the thumbprint and certificate name.
The toolbar includes the following options:
ARM server info
When you click Armserver info in the toolbar, the ArmServer Information window is displayed with information about the ARM server and the server certificate details.
Generate Certificate
When an administrator clicks Generate Certificate in the toolbar, ARM generates the client certificate. This certificate is used to establish the connection between the ARM server and the client (Collector and Rich Client). You can download the generated certificate from the download directory in the web client machine. The certificate can be added to isolated client machines.
Generate the Init code
When you click Generate Init Code in the toolbar, ARM generates the temporary init (initialization) code and displays the token code and the corresponding expiration date in the Initialization Code window under Token. This code is used to download client certificates from the ARM server.
After you generate the initialization code, you can specify the code when you:
-
Install or upgrade an isolated collector in a distributed environment
-
(Distributed environment only) Start the Configuration application, click Register App in the Login window, enter the initialization code where required, and then log in.
