SAM Installation and Upgrade Guide
SolarWinds strongly recommends that you install the SolarWinds Platform on a server that is neither public, nor internet-facing. To learn about best practices for configuring your SolarWinds Platform installation securely, see Secure Configuration for the SolarWinds Platform.
Install SAM
Be sure to check the SAM system requirements before you install. To install SAM on premises, see the SolarWinds Platform Products Installation and Upgrade Guide. You can also install an evaluation version of SAM.

Upgrade SAM
SolarWinds recommends using the latest version of SAM and the SolarWinds Platform, including hotfixes and service releases.
You can upgrade SAM directly from the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, click Settings > My Deployment.
