Passwords for legacy Microsoft Azure application monitor templates and related application monitors are stored as plain text in the SolarWinds Platform database. SolarWinds recommends switching to Microsoft Azure API poller templates that leverage OAuth 2.0 authorization.”

The following SAM application monitor templates are available for use with Microsoft Azure:

• Microsoft Azure App Service
• Microsoft Azure Blob Storage Account
• Microsoft Azure Event Hub Namespace
• Microsoft Azure IOT Hub
• Microsoft Azure SQL Server Database
• Microsoft Azure SQL Server Database Elastic Pool
• Microsoft Azure Virtual Machine Scale Set

Deprecated templates

The following templates are no longer included in fresh installations of SAM, but remain available in THWACK. SolarWinds recommends using API poller templates instead.

• Replace the Microsoft Azure Batch Account application monitor template with the Microsoft Azure Batch Account API poller template.
• Replace the Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse application monitor template with the Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics API poller template.
