Monitoring your applications and environment is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, Server & Application Monitor (SAM). Hybrid Cloud Observability and SAM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

Manage credentials in SAM

There are several places within SAM and the SolarWinds Platform where you can track credentials for different features if your SolarWinds Platform account has administrator rights.

  1. Click Settings > All Settings.
  2. Under Credentials, click Manage API Poller Credentials.

Use the Credentials Library to manage user names and passwords for SAM component monitors that need to run in the context of a user account, or require credentials to access data on target servers.

  2. Under Product Specific Settings, click SAM Settings.
  3. Click Credentials Library.

Use the Certificate Credential Library to store user names, private keys, key types, and passwords for Linux and Unix script monitors.

  1. Click Settings > All Settings.
  2. Under Product Specific Settings, click SAM Settings.
  3. Click Certificate Credentials Library.
