Exchange Web Services Round Trip Email
This SAM application monitor template simulates an email round trip to test the ability of an SMTP server to receive and distribute email, and the ability of a user to retrieve email through Microsoft Exchange Web Services. It includes one predefined component monitor, the Exchange Web Services User Experience Monitor.
Prerequisites
WMI access to the Exchange server.
Credentials
Provide credentials for the email account that will send messages to the SMTP server, and then receive messages. Use UPN format (username@domain) — not domain\username format to enter credentials.
Consider using a service account to avoid authentication issues when passwords are updated.
Field descriptions
Description
A default description of the monitor. To override the default description, add to or replace existing text. Changes are automatically saved. The variable to access this field is ${UserDescription}
.
Customize descriptions to specify what will be monitored so related alerts and notifications are more meaningful later.
Enable Component
Determines if the component is enabled. Disabling the component leaves it in a deactivated state that does not influence its application availability or status, as displayed in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.
