Allow non-domain users to create a service portal account

On this page

Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for allowing users who are not part of your domain to create an account that lets them access your service portal. You need to enable two global settings.

Global setting changes required

These global settings must be set up by an administrator.

To enable the first setting:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Global Settings > Service Portal.

  2. Scroll down to Allow end users to sign up for portal, and ensure the toggle is switched to On.

To enable the second setting:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Global Settings > Service Portal > Allowed Domains.

  2. In the text box, add any domains from which you want users to be able to create their own account. See the instructions appropriate for your organization:

Identify user's domain

Any user account that does not display on the Users index page Allowed Domains tab instead displays on the External Domains tab. Navigate to Settings > Users & Groups > Users, and then select the External Domains tab to see.
