New features, enhancements, and improvements

Released May 26, 2024

  • SolarWinds AI (generative AI) features are available in general release for customers in the US data center

SolarWinds AI was previously available only through Labs. See SolarWinds AI: Generative AI features

For customers who already turned on the capability in Labs as part of the beta test, your GenAI settings are already enabled in global settings. You only need to Configure GenAI Settings and Edit permissions.
  • ESM users now receive a single email for their daily digest rather than one email per service provider

The daily digest now consolidates notifications from all service providers into a single email. The content of the email contains headings to summarize the information by service provider followed by assigned items and tasks that are due for that service provider.

  • ESM service providers can now update roles from the Users index page

You can update a single user account or perform a mass update. In your service provider account, navigate to Setup > Users & Groups > Users. On the Users index page, click Actions, and then select Update to change user roles. From there, in the Update panel on the left, select Role from the dropdown list, then select the appropriate role, and click the check box to the left of the user(s) you want to change the role for. See Change user's role.

  • The SolarWinds Service Desk app is available in the new version of MS Teams

Both new customers and existing customers can now see the SolarWinds Service Desk app in the new MS Teams client. See Microsoft Teams client integration.

Released May 5, 2024

  • Mobile app v 3.0.0 is available. User action is required.

Customers need to instruct users to relaunch the application after it is updated and accept the push notification permission prompt.

The notification dialog prompts the user to allow Service Desk to send notifications. The users see two options: Allow and Don’t allow.

    • If the user clicks Allow, new notification settings are enabled unless they disables it from the mobile app settings.

    • If the user clicks Don’t allow, the notification dialog prompts again after the app launches. From the login screen, the user is prompted to follow Step 1 or select Don’t allow again, in which case the notification dialog will not appear and the user will not receive notifications. The user can still choose to manually enable notifications.

Step-by-step instructions for users to follow after updating to version 3.0.0 are available. See Upgrade the mobile app to version 3.0.0.

Fixed issues

Description
  • When Android users tap Push notification, the mobile app now opens.

  • When a user clicks Attach file in an incident comment but does not add text to the comment, the file now uploads correctly.

  • The default incident priority now updates when the mobile app is used.

  • Requesters using the mobile app now see a list of the same sites they can see using a web browser.

If you have any issues or bugs related to the released features, open tickets via the SolarWinds Portal or by emailing technicalsupport@solarwinds.com.
