SolarWinds Service Desk March 2023 release notes

These release notes describe the new features and improvements in SolarWinds Service Desk (SWSD). In addition, they provide information about upgrades and detailed workarounds for known issues.

New features

  • A new column called Scan Origin appears on the Computers and Network Devices index pages. When assets are identified through Discovery scans, the Scan Origin column identifies the source type (for example, SNMP, NMAP, or SCCM) to help administrators troubleshoot Discovery-related errors. Administrators can use this information to decide which Discovery protocols to use. If you have edited your Computers or Network devices index pages, you can add the Scan Origin column. See Computers and Network devices.

  • See where custom fields are used before editing them from the Service Catalog. When a user is editing a custom field from the Service Catalog, the user will see a pop-up that contains a list of the catalog items and custom forms where the field is used. They will also be asked to confirm the changes before saving them. See Service catalog.

  • Each custom field has an audit tab. To see the audit log of a custom field, go to Setup > Service Desk > Custom Fields, select the custom field, and then locate the Audit tab. See Custom fields audit log.
