These release notes describe the new features, enhancements, improvements, and fixed issues in SolarWinds Service Desk (SWSD).

New features, improvements, and enhancements in SWSD

Visibility of Premier features for Advanced plan customers

In setup menus, Advanced plan administrators can now see the features available to Premier plan customers. In addition, account owners can activate a 14-day trial of Premier plan features. Features that display with a lock are those available to Premier plan customers.

Account owners can enable or disable the visibility of the Premier plan features from navigation menus. By default the visibility is set to On.

Account owners can activate a trial to explore Premier features and learn how they work. SolarWinds strongly recommends that you explore Premier features before starting your 14-day free trial or upgrading your plan. Search SWSD documentation to learn more about each feature.

Administrators can ask account owners to activate a trial or disable/enable the Premier Feature Visibility setting.

Enable and disable SLAs for reporting

Administrators can now activate/inactivate service level agreements (SLAs) through the Actions dropdown from the All SLAs index page. This new feature offers the ability to report on inactive SLAs and set up SLAs in an inactive state. In addition, you can filter service level management reports by both active and inactive SLAs. Administrators can true up the number of licenses or submit a renewal request directly from SWSD

If your company exceeds the number of currently subscribed licenses, administrators see a new banner at the top of the platform. The banner directs admins to a new page that allows them to increase the number of licenses without contacting a SolarWinds representative. They can also renew an existing subscription from that page.

It can take up to 24 hours after increasing licenses / renewing subscription for the banner to disappear.
