SolarWinds Service Desk May 2022 release notes

These release notes describe the new features and improvements in SolarWinds Service Desk (SWSD). In addition, they provide information about upgrades and detailed workarounds for known issues.

New features

This release includes the features below.

  • Group/stack Contract Volume Breakdown report by start date and end date. You can now identify contracts ahead of their expiration date.

  • Perform direct upload of wildcard SSL certificates. You can upload wildcard SSL certificates from within SWSD without opening a support ticket.

  • Hide or delete custom fields. You can delete or disable custom fields that are not in use.

  • Search nodes by host name or IP address. SolarWinds created two columns in the computer index page to separate the host name from the IP address. You now have a field named Name and one named IP Address and the data has been separated for you. With this change, you can search, filter, and sort based on the host name or IP address of nodes. The node host name will be used to access the node. If you have created a custom view, be sure to edit your view to include the IP Address column.

  • Set an email protection compatibility toggle for all notification emails. You can choose which setting to use for all of your email notifications:

    • Include in-email action buttons, making it easier to respond, but potentially being less compatible with some email protection tools, for example, SafeLink.

    • Ensure compatibility with email malware protection services such as Microsoft Defender’s Safe Links and Barracuda’s Link Protection.

  • Add alternative text for images via the text editor. Alternative text describes what’s on an image and the function of the image on the page. It provides information for the visually impaired using a screen reader.
