Edit entities
When you edit an entity, the entity type determines what property values you can change.
To update Cloud Accounts settings, see Cloud Accounts settings.

Edit the display name of other entity types
For other entity types, you can change the display name used to identify that entity in the SolarWinds Observability SaaS interface. Changing an entity's display name does not change the entity's ID. The entity's relationships with other entities are not affected and data ingested for the entity will remain associated with the entity.
Editing the name of a service entity changes only the display name . The name included in the Service key is not changed.
The Service key is used to identify your account and the service being instrumented.
The Service key is in the form of YourApiToken:YourServiceName
, where YourServiceName
is the original name you chose for this service. The service name is also called the entity's service ID and can be found in the Overview tab in the service entity's Entity Explorer details view.
Do not update the Service key.

Edit configuration details for OTel integration entities
For integration entity types, such as NGINX or Apache, you can change configuration details. If the SolarWinds Observability Agent is deployed on the same physical or virtual machine as the integration, you can configure log monitoring details.
See Edit integrations.
Add custom tags
You can create your own tags and add them to entities. To add a custom tag, go to the entity details view and click Add Tags in the right pane. Then specify a key or select an existing one from the drop-down, and assign a value to it.
You can also add a tag when creating API Tokens to automatically apply it to all data using the token.
