Disable or enable an alert

When you disable an alert definition, any existing triggered alerts are cleared. While the alert is disabled, SolarWinds Observability does not test for the alert condition and no alerts are triggered.

The alert definition remains available, and you can view details, edit the definition, or enable it again.

Disable one alert definition

  1. In the left pane, click Alerts > Alert Settings.

    The Alert Settings page lists all configured alert definitions.

  2. Locate the alert you want to disable.

  3. Hover over the table row, and click the vertical ellipsis () in the far-right column. Then click Disable.

    You can also select the alert definition and click the Disable button above the list.

    The alert is disabled, and the Enabled column displays the Disabled Alert icon .

Disable multiple alert definitions

  1. In the left pane, click Alerts > Alert Settings.

    The Alert Settings page lists all configured alert definitions.

  2. Locate the alerts you want to disable, and select the checkbox on each row.

    A row of buttons is displayed above the list.

  3. Click the Disable button.

    The selected alerts are disabled, and the Enabled column displays the Disabled Alert icon for each alert.

Enable one disabled alert definition
