Migrate rules to KSS NG

After you install KSS NG, you can migrate rules from your previous KSS environment into KSS NG.

To migrate rules:

1. Save your previous rules by exporting your configuration as a .ini file in your previous KSS configuration.

   If you are migrating from a legacy KSS configuration, see import and export rules for details.

2. From the Kiwi Syslog NG user menu, choose Setup > Settings. In the Migration tab, click Migrate Settings.

   

3. Select the KSS configuration .ini file you previously saved and click Open.

4. In the Import Rules window, select which rules you want to import. Click Import Rules.

   Rules labeled as Not Supported contain filters or actions that are not currently available in KSS NG. Unsupported rules will be automatically disabled in KSS NG.

   

5. Your migrated rules will now populate in the Rules window. Rules with fully supported actions and filters will be automatically enabled.
