Rule Actions — Legacy
This documentation is for legacy Kiwi Syslog Server versions 9.8.3 and older. See the KSS NG version of Rule Actions for the newest version of the following documentation.
Actions are triggered when all the filters for a rule are evaluated as TRUE
. Multiple actions can be defined for each rule. You can define actions to do the following:
- Display a message
- Log messages to a file
- Forward messages to another host
- Play a sound
- Run an external program
- Send an email message
- Send a syslog message
- Log messages to a database
- Log messages to a database with bulk insert
- Log to the NT event log
- Send an SNMP trap
- Stop processing the message
- Run a script
- Send a pager or SMS message via NotePager Pro
- Log messages to Kiwi Server Web Access
- Reset flags and counters
- Log messages to Papertrail.com (a cloud-based server)
- Log messages to Loggly
- Log file rotation
- AutoSplit values
- Message content or counters
