New features and improvements in legacy KSS

Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2022

Legacy Kiwi Syslog Server now supports Microsoft Windows Server 2022 for enhanced security features, hardware compatibility, performance, and efficiency between server connections. For more information about Windows Server 2022, see What's New in Windows Server 2022.

Upgraded Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable components

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and 2013 (x86) Redistributable components have been upgraded to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) version for improved performance, compatibility with Windows, and support in legacy Kiwi Syslog Server.

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 (x86) Redistributable component is required to forward syslogs to another host. The Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x86) Redistributable component is no longer needed for legacy Kiwi Syslog Server and should be removed.

Improved encryption in Kiwi Web Access

The password storage security method in Kiwi Web Access has been updated to use the SHA2 algorithm.

Improved connection security in Kiwi Web Access

The Kiwi Web Access self-signed certificate now uses a stronger SSL/TSL key exchange. The length of the public key used by Kiwi Web Access has been increased 2048 bits for a more secure server connection.

Other improvements

  • The IPWorks library has been updated to version 2022.
