Network Sonar Discovery

The Network Sonar view provides a list of all discoveries you have configured for your network.

To find out whether a discovery completed successfully, consult the Status column on the Network Sonar Discovery tab.

• Finished: the discovery finished successfully, and will not execute again.
• Scheduled: The discovery will run at least once more.

Add a discovery

Click Add New Discovery to open the Network Sonar Wizard. See Discover your network for the SolarWinds Platform with the Discovery Wizard

Start a discovery

Select the discovery you want to start, and click Discover Now. After the discovery completes, the Network Sonar Results Wizard opens. See Add discovered devices to the SolarWinds Platform

Edit a discovery

Select the discovery you want to edit, and click Edit to open the Network Discovery Wizard. Edit credentials, nodes to be discovered, discovery settings, or schedule.

Add discovered devices for monitoring

Network Sonar Discovery discovers all devices on your network matching a discovery profile, regardless of whether the devices are already monitored.

To add all discovered devices, select a discovery, and click Import All Results.

To add only devices that are not monitored yet, select a discovery, and click Import New Results.

The Network Sonar Results Wizard opens. Select devices to be added for monitoring, and complete the wizard. See Add discovered devices to the SolarWinds Platform.

Delete a discovery

To delete a network discovery, select the discovery, click Delete, and click OK to confirm the deletion.
