Documentation forNetwork Performance Monitor
Monitoring network performance is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Essentials edition. Network Performance Monitor (NPM) is also available in a standalone module.

Monitor Cisco Catalyst switches

Track performance, availability, and configuration metrics for your Cisco Catalyst switches using SNMP.

  • Gain enhanced visibility into the devices. Monitor port utilization, CPU, memory, and interface metrics to ensure proactive troubleshooting.

  • Monitor hardware health. Track hardware health metrics, including temperature, fan status, and power supply monitoring.

  • Gain insight into topology. View data for STP, MAC address tables, and VLANs where supported.

To get accurate information, add the device for monitoring as a node using SNMP as the polling method. Review the node details view or view your switches on topology maps.

Supported metrics

Status and response time are polled via ICMP.
