Open other database

This topic applies to KCT NG 2026.2 and later. If you are on KCT 3.12.7 or earlier, see legacy topic.

Kiwi CatTools NGopens any available compatible KCT NG database in any folder it has permissions to fully access. To open another database:

  1. Go to Files > Database and select Open/New.
  2. Browse to and select the database you want to open.
  3. Enter the password for the selected database, and click Open.

Use caution when opening databases from previous versions of CatTools. Incompatible database files are not opened. Compatible databases that are not at the current version may be migrated, if required, to the version of KCT NG that is opening it.
