SolarWinds Platform 2022.4 and all associated modules have been replaced by version 2022.4.1. See SCM 2022.4.1 release notes and SolarWinds Platform 2022.4.1 release notes in addition to SCM 2022.4 release notes.

These release notes describe the new features, improvements, and fixed issues in Server Configuration Monitor (SCM) 2022.4. They also provide information about upgrades and describe workarounds for known issues.

SCM 2022.4 offers improvements compared to previous releases of SCM, including enhanced security over SCM 2022.3 and earlier versions.

SCM 2022.4 is part of the SolarWinds Platform and includes improvements and fixes from SolarWinds Platform 2022.4.

New customer installation

For information about installing Server Configuration Monitor, see the SolarWinds Installer and the SCM Installation Guide. After installation, use the SCM Getting Started Guide to get started fast.

How to upgrade

Use the SolarWinds Installer to upgrade your entire SolarWinds Platform deployment, including any scalability engines.

You must be on SCM 2020.2.1 or later to upgrade to SCM 2022.4. If you are on SCM 2020.2 or earlier, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2022.4.

You can upgrade your entire deployment from the My Deployment page (Settings > My Deployment).

Fixed issues in SCM 2022.4

SCM 2022.4 fixes the following issues:

Some rules in the Windows Server 2016 STIG policy hid real error messages, and they were not propagated to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.

In addition, SCM 2022.4 contains all of the fixed issues from the SolarWinds Platform 2022.4 release.

End of life

For modules based on Orion Platform 2020.2.6 and earlier, SolarWinds is announcing future end-of-life plans for your convenience. As always, SolarWinds recommends you upgrade to the latest version of your products at your earliest convenience.

End of support

SCM no longer supports the following platforms and features.

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2

Windows Server 2012 R2 is not supported in SolarWinds Platform 2022.4.

SolarWinds recommends that you upgrade the operating system of your SolarWinds Platform server to Windows Server 2016 or later. See SolarWinds Platform 2022.4 system requirements.

Deprecation notices

This version of Server Configuration Monitor deprecates the following platforms and features.

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features. Customizations applied to a deprecated feature might not be migrated if a new feature replaces the deprecated one.

Browser support All versions of Internet Explorer will become unsupported in a future release. Some pages are not compatible with IE 11. Do not enable Enterprise Mode in IE 11. It is not supported.
