New features and improvements in SCM

For information about new features and fixes in the SolarWinds Platform, see the SolarWinds Platform 2023.3 Release Notes.

SCM introduces support for custom policies

SCM 2023.3 introduces a user interface within SCM policy management settings that enables customers to define their own policies, edit existing rules, and check the logic of rules. In addition to using the new rule definition wizard, SCM customers can also define data sources, expression on these data sources, and conditions using the SCM Query Builder. Alternatively, customers can also switch to a YAML editor if desired.

SCM can now audit events

Starting with version 2023.3, SCM audits events so that users can be notified when profiles or profile elements are created, edited, or deleted. It also audits the policy engine to notify users when policies and policy rules are created, edited, or deleted.
