Chargeback reports in VMAN

With VMAN 2020.2.1, the Chargeback report feature gives you a quick way to calculate your actual virtual resource costs based on your actual historical usage and on configurable cost factors such as CPU cost, memory cost, storage cost, and vCPU cost.

Create a Chargeback report

In the Orion Web Console, click on MY DASHBOARDS -> under VIRTUALIZATION -> Chargeback.

Click Create. The Create chargeback report wizard appears:

Name: Enter a Name for the report. A name is required.

Description: Optionally, enter a Description for the report for your reference.

Summarize by: Choose whether to organize the chargeback data by clusters or by hosts. With VMAN 2020.2.6, you can also generate and organize chargeback data by VMware tags or by custom properties (as assigned to Host nodes or as assigned to VM nodes).

Target data: Choose the time frame that has the historical usage data to base the report on.

CPU cost: Enter the cost in your local currency unit per GHz.

Memory cost: Enter the cost of memory in your local currency unit per GB.

Storage cost: Enter the cost of data storage in your local currency unit per GB.

vCPU cost: Enter the vCPU cost in your local currency unit per each additional vCPU.

When each field is to your liking, click Create. A new entry for your report will be added to the chargeback reports summary in the Orion Web Console.

Download a Chargeback report

After you have created a chargeback report, you can download the report in Excel format at any time.

In the Orion Web Console, click on MY DASHBOARDS -> under VIRTUALIZATION -> Chargeback.

Check the checkbox on the left-hand side for the report you want to download. Click Download.

The option to download will only appear if a single report is selected.

If you wish, you can delete chargeback reports.

In the Orion Web Console, click on MY DASHBOARDS -> under VIRTUALIZATION -> Chargeback.

Check the checkbox on the left-hand side for the report(s) you want to delete. Click Delete.
