SolarWinds Platform 2022.4 and all associated modules have been replaced by version 2022.4.1. See VMAN 2022.4.1 release notes and SolarWinds Platform 2022.4.1 release notes in addition to VMAN 2022.4 release notes.

These release notes describe the new features, improvements, and fixed issues in Virtualization Manager 2022.4. They also provide information about upgrades and describe workarounds for known issues.

2022.4 is part of the SolarWinds Platform and includes improvements and fixes from SolarWinds Platform 2022.4.

You must be on VMAN 2020.2.1 or later to upgrade to VMAN 2022.4. If you are on VMAN 2019.4 or earlier, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2022.4.

VMAN 2022.4 fixes the following issues:

Versions of NCC higher than 3.9.4.1 are now supported for polling, fixing Hardware Health polling for Nutanix AHVs.

Incorrect size shown for VMware VM snapshots
Issue: Pages and reports that show snapshot sizes for VMware VMs can sometimes be incorrect

 

"Triggered by Event" widget update delay
Issue: The "Triggered by Event" widget may in some cases not show the latest event that triggered the alert.

 

Monitoring a VMWare vCenter via ROP (Remote Orion Poller) shows unknown status
Issue: Unknown status can be incorrectly shown when monitoring a VMWare vCenter through a Remote Orion Poller.

 

Incorrect AppStack data for vCenters
Issue: AppStack data for a vCenter may in some cases be displayed incorrectly when the vCenter is deployed as a virtual machine under an ESXi host that is monitored by the same vCenter.

 

Account limitations may not work with VIM/VMAN groups
Issue: Account limitations may not work correctly in some cases with VIM/VMAN groups.

 

Custom charts show irrelevant host

Issue: Custom charts for VMAN clusters may sometimes show an irrelevant host in the chart legend.

 

Cluster Memory Utilization alerts sometimes show incorrect host

Issue: Incorrect hosts, even ones not in the relevant cluster, can sometimes be shown in Cluster Memory Utilization alerts.

 

Incorrect status shown for vCenter
Issue: If VMAN's polling process has failed for any reason, the last known status for a vCenter is shown in VMAN. This could result in a normal, green status being shown for a vCenter when it shouldn't.

This version of Virtualization Manager deprecates the following platforms and features.

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features.

Browser support All versions of Internet Explorer will become unsupported in a future release. Some pages are not compatible with IE 11. Do not enable Enterprise Mode in IE 11. It is not supported.
