Web Application Firewall (WAF)
Overview
AWS WAF is a web application firewall that helps protect your web applications from common web exploits that could affect application availability, compromise security, or consume excessive resources.
Setup
Installation
If you haven't already, first set up the AWS CloudWatch integration. No additional steps are needed for installation.
Configuration
On the AWS CloudWatch integration page, ensure that the WAF service is selected for metric collection.
Metrics
Name | Description |

AllowedRequests (count) |
The number of allowed web requests. |
BlockedRequests (count) |
The number of blocked web requests. |
CountedRequests (count) |
The number of counted web requests. |
Available Tags
Name | Description |

awsaccount | AWS account associated with the metrics |
region | Name of the region |
rule | The name of the rule, all rules (ALL), or the default rule (Default_Action) |
webacl | The CloudWatch metric name |
