I have received an API rate limit error. What does that mean?
To protect the quality of service from AppOptics, soft API rate limits have been put in place for all of our customers. The intent of rate limits is to protect you from unintended use, and consequently an unexpected increase in cost. For example, rapidly creating metrics, polling aggressively, making API calls with a high concurrency, or sending too many measurements in a short amount of time may result in triggering the rate limiting.
If your account is affected by a rate limit, you'll receive an error response similar to the following:
You have hit the API limit for measurements [measure:raw_rate].
Contact: support to adjust this limit
For accounts on a Production plan, we can adjust the limits where appropriate. Please e-mail AppOptics support for help with your rate limits.
