Manage passwords used by WPM Players to run transactions
To play recorded transactions at scheduled intervals, WPM Players deployed to remote systems in your environment use permissions assigned to WPM Player service accounts to run transaction steps. Domain accounts may also provide permissions to run transactions, depending on how your WPM deployment is configured.
WPM stores passwords for WPM Player service accounts and domain accounts in a secure manner. Also note:
- You can use the SolarWinds Domain Account Configuration Tool to manage both domain accounts and WPM Player service accounts. SolarWinds recommends using that tool to manage all local accounts.
- The SolarWinds WPM Playback Player service must be running before launching either:
- The SolarWinds Domain Account Configuration Tool, or
- The WPM Player Settings tool.
