Migrate host and on-premises infrastructure monitoring from AppOptics to SolarWinds Observability SaaS
The SolarWinds Observability SaaS Host Agent leverages an Open Telemetry Collector to monitor hosts running in various deployments in both on-premises and SaaS environments. For more information, see Host monitoring.
AppOptics integrations that leverage the AppOptics Snap Agent can be replaced with the SolarWinds Observability SaaS Host Agent and Open Telemetry integrations. To replace the AppOptics Snap Agent, complete the following steps. When you install theSolarWinds Observability SaaS Agent, you can enable logs monitoring as well.

(Optional) Uninstall the AppOptics Snap Agent.
This step is optional because both agents can run simultaneously.

On Windows, use the Programs and Features Control Panel to uninstall the agent.

On Linux, use the following commands:

For deb-based systems:
sudo apt-get remove solarwinds-snap-agent
Configuration files remain on deb-based systems after the Snap Agent is uninstalled. Do not remove these manually. To remove all configuration files from your system after you uninstall the Snap Agent, run the following command:
sudo apt-get remove --purge solarwinds-snap-agent

For RPM-based systems:
sudo yum erase solarwinds-snap-agent

Install the SolarWinds Observability SaaS Agent using any of the following methods:

Use an automation tool such as Ansible or Chef (select this option in the wizard)
