Solar Putty

Use the Solar Putty tool in ETS to manage multiple sessions from one console with tabbed user interface. With Solar Putty you can save your credentials for sessions for easy login, automate scripts once a connection is established, and find saved sessions with the Windows search integration.

You must agree to the end user license agreement when you launch Solar Putty for the first time.

Create a new session

  1. Launch Solar Putty from the Launchpad All Tools menu.

  2. Click Create new session.

  3. Enter a Session name, IP or hostname, and configure your port. Port 22 is set by default.

  4. Select the type of session connection: SSHv2, SSHv1, or Telnet.

  5. Configure your session credentials.

    1. Create new credentials.

      1. Enter the username and password for your connection.

      2. Click Browse and select the applicable Private key.

      3. Enter a credentials name.

    2. Choose an existing set of credentials from the drop down list.

  6. Select any customization options.

    1. Click Set custom color of this session and select a color from the options.

    2. Click Use-post authenticate script and click import to import the desired script.

    3. Click Enable Session logging to create a log for the session.

  7. Click Create.

Manage old sessions

Any session that you've connected to on Solar Putty will display in the Overview by default. Use the Search bar to search for a specific session address. On the Overview you can edit the details of any existing session, or delete sessions that are no longer needed.

Edit Sessions

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis for the session you want to edit and click edit.

  2. Make the necessary changes to your saved session.

  3. Click Save.

Delete Sessions

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis for the session you want to delete.

  2. Click Delete.
