ETS 11.0.5 release notes

These release notes describe the new features, improvements, and fixed issues in this release. They also provide information about upgrades and describe work-arounds for known issues.

New features and improvements in Toolset 11.0.5

Engineer's Toolset now has the ability to silently install with command switches. For more information, see Silent installation for Desktop Engineer's Toolset.

Fixed Issues

Issue Case Number
Fixed the issue where SNMP community string is visible when users (members and non-members) mouse over Interface Monitor. -
Fixed the issue in Toolset 11.0 and 11.0.1 Traceroute tool where users are unable to see or select devices in the left pane of the Tool Configuration Wizard when using Google Chrome. -
Fixed the issue where the Toolset Toolbox does not open on the correct section of the page. -
Fixed the issue where duplicate tabs display for THWACK Community and Training. -

Open Issues

Issue Case Number
Web Toolset installation is blocked when using Windows Server 2008 R2 without the Service pack machine. A message about the unsupported OS is displayed during the installation. Clicking Yes redirects to Supported operating systems for Orion products. -
IP Network Browser tool doesn't open after upgrading to 11.0.1. -
Web Tools don't work if the SQL Server instance running the SolarWinds database is using MSSQL 2012 with the case-sensitive collation setting SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS. -
Desktop Engineer's Toolset v11.0 installation fails on Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit. Install .NET 3.5 manually prior to installing Engineer's Toolset. -
Windows 8.1 VM - Error in installation of Engineer's Toolset on the Web. -
Internet Explorer crashes in Windows 2012 R1 after installing Engineer's Toolset See the SolarWinds knowledge base article Error: Engineer's Toolset - Internet Explorer Fails to Open. -

End of support

  • Support for SQL 2008 and 2008 R2 is deprecated as of this release. Future releases will no longer support SQL 2008 or 2008 R2. SolarWinds recommends that you upgrade directly to SQL 2016 at your earliest convenience.
  • Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 is deprecated as of this release. Future releases will no longer support Windows Server 2008 R2. SolarWinds recommends that you upgrade to Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, or 2016 at your earliest convenience.
