Compatibility improved with the SolarWinds Platform

This release is a compatibility update for Engineer's Toolset for the Web. Engineer's Toolset for the Web is part of the SolarWinds Platform and can be used alongside other SolarWinds Platform products. This release improves compatibility with newer versions of the SolarWinds Platform.

How to upgrade

To upgrade Engineer's Toolset for Desktop to 2023.2, download the latest ETS for Desktop installer from the Customer Portal and reinstall ETS for Desktop by following the steps in Downloading and installing Engineer's Toolset for Desktop.

For more information about upgrading from a version of Engineer's Toolset for Desktop that's older than 11.0.6 to 2023.2, see the Upgrade Engineer's Toolset topic in the ETS Administrator Guide.

To upgrade Engineer's Toolset for the Web, use the SolarWinds Platform installer.

If you are upgrading Engineer's Toolset for the Web, you must be on ETS 2020.2.1 or later to upgrade to ETS 2023.2. If you are on ETS 2019.4 or earlier, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2023.2.

ETS for the Web 2023.2 contains all of the fixed issues from the SolarWinds Platform 2023.2 release. See the SolarWinds Platform 2023.2 Release Notes for more information.

ETS 2023.2 also contains the following fixed issues:

N/A Ping and Traceroute buttons for Engineer’s Toolset for the Web are now properly disabled if Engineer’s Toolset for Desktop and the Toolset Integration Tray are not installed on the server.
01073757, 01185940 ETS for Desktop tools now use the PC's default browser to launch links instead of Internet Explorer 11.
