Engineer's Toolset 2024.1 includes the new features in version 2024.1 of the SolarWinds Platform. For more information, see the SolarWinds Platform 2024.1 Release Notes.
The free tool TFTP Server is now integrated into ETS for Desktop.

Directory Transversal Vulnerability
Directory traversal vulnerability in examples/layout/feed-proxy.php in Jack Slocum Ext 1.0 alpha1 (Ext JS) allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the feed parameter. NOTE: analysis by third party researchers indicates that this issue might be platform dependent.
Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Flash component infrastructure in YUI 2.4.0 through 2.8.1, as used in Bugzilla, Moodle, and other products, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via vectors related to charts/assets/charts.swf.

Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Flash component infrastructure in YUI 2.4.0 through 2.9.0 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via vectors related to charts.swf, a similar issue to CVE-2010-4207
Installation or upgrade
Engineer's Toolset for Desktop
To upgrade Engineer's Toolset for Desktop to 2024.1, download the latest ETS for Desktop installer from the Customer Portal and reinstall ETS for Desktop by following the steps in Downloading and installing Engineer's Toolset for Desktop.
Engineer's Toolset for the Web
For new SolarWinds Platform deployments, download the installation file from the ETS product page on https://www.solarwinds.com or from the Customer Portal. For more information, see Get the installer.
To activate ETS in an existing SolarWinds Platform deployment, use the License Manager.
For upgrades, go to Settings > My Deployment to initiate the upgrade. The SolarWinds Installer upgrades your entire deployment (all SolarWinds Platform products and any scalability engines).

Supported upgrade paths to 2024.1:
- Versions 2020.2.1 and later: Upgrade directly to version 2024.1.
- Versions earlier than 2020.2.1: First upgrade to version 2020.2.6, and then upgrade to version 2024.1. Before upgrading, see Considerations for upgrading from the Orion Platform to the SolarWinds Platform.
Version 2024.1 is the last release that will support a direct upgrade from 2020.2.1 or 2020.2.4. If you choose to stay on 2020.2.1 or 2020.2.4, you will be required to upgrade to 2024.1 before you can upgrade to a later release.
