Documentation forNetwork Configuration Manager
Managing network configurations is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Advanced edition. Network Configuration Manager (NCM) is also available in a standalone module.

Give NCM write access to a non-default location or a network share

You must specify credentials to give NCM write access to desired location if you want to:

If you use a domain account for a network share directory, NCM does not support using smart cards, tokens, or any other form of two-factor or multi-factor authentication.

  1. Click Settings > All Settings.
  2. Under Product Specific Settings, click NCM Settings.
  3. Under Advanced, click Advanced Settings.
  4. Under Network Share Settings, select Use Custom Credentials to Give NCM Writer Access.
  5. If you want to enter different credentials for each polling engine, select Specify credentials per each polling engine.

The dialog includes credential fields for each polling engine.

  6. Enter the credentials, and click Validate Credentials.

If the validation fails, verify that the NCM-related account has Windows permissions for the network storage.
