Before you upgrade (for SRM Profiler/STM users only)

The SRM Profiler (also known as STM) reached EOL on January 1, 2022, and therefore integration between SRM and SRM Profiler is no longer supported. If you still have SRM Profiler integrated with SRM, you will need to disable integration before updating. Because the SRM license is held on the SRM Profiler, you will then need to deactivate the license and apply it to SRM.

If you try to upgrade while SRM Profiler integration is still active, the installation is halted, and a warning message is displayed.

Step 1 - Disable SRM Profiler

  1. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > SRM Settings > Manage SRM Profiler Module Integration.

  2. Click Disable Integration.

Step 2 - Deactivate the License from the SRM Profiler

  1. Access the STM console (http://<ip address>:9000) using administration login credentials.

  2. Go to Settings > License Manager, then click Deactivate.

You will receive a pop-up window that the license has been deactivated.

Step 3 - Apply the License to SRM

  1. Navigate to Settings > All Settings.

  2. In the Details section, click License Manager.

  3. Find SRM in the list of products and click Activate.

  4. Enter the license details for SRM from your customer portal.

Step 4 - Uninstall the SRM Profiler

Installation or upgrade

For new SolarWinds Platform deployments, download the installation file from the SRM product page on https://www.solarwinds.com or from the Customer Portal. For more information, see Get the installer.

To activate SRM in an existing SolarWinds Platform deployment, use the License Manager.

For upgrades, go to Settings > My Deployment to initiate the upgrade. The SolarWinds Installer upgrades your entire deployment (all SolarWinds Platform products and any scalability engines).

For more information, see the SolarWinds Platform Product Installation and Upgrade Guide.

Supported upgrade paths to 2024.1:

Version 2024.1 is the last release that will support a direct upgrade from 2020.2.1 or 2020.2.4. If you choose to stay on 2020.2.1 or 2020.2.4, you will be required to upgrade to 2024.1 before you can upgrade to a later release.
