SQL Sentry Portal Custom Templates
Create custom templates for your SQL Sentry Portal Performance tab. Custom templates allow you to tailor specific widgets for the selected target type that can be overlaid onto the target's Performance tab. See Custom Charts.
SQL Sentry Portal Plan Diagram tooltips
The Plan Diagram for SQL Sentry Portal has been upgraded with enhanced tool tips. See Portal Top SQL.
Universal Database License
Universal database licenses are now available for SQL Sentry. With the new universal database license, you can use your purchased license(s) for SQL Sentry or Database Performance Analyzer (DPA). See SQL Sentry License Management.
General improvements
- The Onboarding Wizard has been updated to with improved SQL Sentry Portal support.
- Noisy Advisory Conditions are now disabled by default, such as High Active User sessions, High Ad Hoc Query Plans, High Average Wait Time per User Session, and more.

The SQL Sentry Monitoring Service doesn't recognize license changes
In SQL Sentry Version 2024.4 the SQL Sentry Monitoring Service isn't correctly processing licensing changes in the SolarWinds SQL Sentry license manager. For example, after you deactivate a SQL Sentry license, the Monitoring Service may not recognize the licensing change, which could result in the inability to watch certain targets.
Resolution or workaround: After updating your license, in the SolarWinds SQL Sentry License manager, you need to restart your SQL Sentry Monitoring service(s).
