View details about a monitored application

From the Entity Explorer or the Software area overview table, click the name of an application to open the Application Details view. The tabs provide detailed insights into your applications and their components, as well as alerts. See the following sections for information about tabs specific to applications. For tabs that display common widgets, such as Health and Active Alerts, see View entity metric data and Entity details view.

Overview

The right pane of the Overview tab shows the application monitor display name and native state, and other metadata such as the tags and information about the host server or network device and Network Collector.

The Overview tab also displays the widgets described below.

Components

The Components widget comprises a donut graph showing the number of related application components currently distributed among each of the health score categories. An individual entity's current health score is displayed as a number out of 100, with the background of the current health colored based on whether the health is Good, Moderate, Bad, or NULL. The combined results for all monitored components displayed in the graph are in real time.

Average Availability

The Average Availability widget displays the average state, up or down, for all components in the monitored application over the selected duration.

Host Average CPU Utilization

The Host Average CPU Utilization widget shows the average CPU capacity currently in use for the host server or network device.

Host Average Memory Utilization

The Host Average Memory Utilization widget provides the average memory in use by the host server or network device, as a percentage.

Below the widgets on the Overview tab is a sortable Processes and Services table, which shares health score and key performance indicators of processes and services monitored by the application.

Components

Use the interactive Components table sort, filter, and search application components that are currently being monitored. Included in the table for each are:

  • The individual health score

  • Name of the entity

  • Native State

  • Component Type

  • Last Seen time stamp and estimated relative time

Use the vertical ellipsis next to the Last Seen values to complete actions specific to each component:

  • Edit: Make changes to the name of the component monitor

  • Add to Group: Select an existing or create a new group to add the component monitor

Clicking a row opens the Inspector Panel where you can see related details for each monitored component.

From the Component tab table, you can explore more Component Details by clicking the name of the component monitor, or from the Inspector Panel, click the View Details button to view more Application Component Details.

Alerts

Use the Alerts tab to view details about any alerts related to your application, including active alerts, historical (inactive) alerts over time, and alert settings. Alert severity is categorized by color, with Critical (red), Warning (yellow), and Information (blue) based alerts. Quickly identify Critical Alerts from monitored application that require your attention.

Create new, or modify existing alerts from within the Alert Settings. Click an alert link from Active Alerts or Historical Alerts to continue to Alerts Explorer for your selection. See Alerts Explorer for more information.
