Attention 12.8.5 Hotfix 3 customers

WHD 12.8.5 Hotfix 3 provides bugfixes related to MS-SQL Server database upgrade. For information about the 12.8.5 release, including EOL notices and upgrade information, see 12.8.5 Release Notes.

Customers who downloaded and installed WHD 12.8.5 Hotfix 2 should also download and install 12.8.5 Hotfix 3.

New features and improvements in WHD

There were no features or improvements added for WHD in this release.

Installation instructions

This hotfix adds or modifies the following files:

Adds and modifies the following files in the <WebHelpDesk>/bin/webapps/helpdesk/WEB-INF/lib/ directory:

• whd-core.jar
• whd-persistence.jar

This hotfix requires Releases 12.8.5 Hotfix 2 with MS-SQL Server database.

In the installation instructions, <WebHelpDesk> represents the Releases home folder. The default home folders for the supported operating systems are listed below:

• macOS: /Library/WebHelpDesk
• Microsoft Windows: \Program Files\WebHelpDesk
• Linux: /usr/local/webhelpdesk

Installing hotfix 3

Perform the following steps to install this Hotfix:

1. Stop WHD.
2. Navigate to the following directory:
   • <WebHelpDesk>/bin/webapps/helpdesk/WEB-INF/lib/
3. Copy the following files included in the hotfix 12.8.5-HF3\bin\webapps\helpdesk\WEB-INF\lib directory:
   • whd-core.jar
   • whd-persistence.jar
4. Back up the following files to a separate directory:
   • <WebHelpDesk>/bin/webapps/helpdesk/WEB-INF/lib/whd-core.jar
   • <WebHelpDesk>/bin/webapps/helpdesk/WEB-INF/lib/whd-persistence.jar
     
5. Navigate to the following directory:
   • <WebHelpDesk>/bin/webapps/helpdesk/WEB-INF/lib
6. Copy the files included with this hotfix to the /lib directory, overwriting the following files:
   • whd-core.jar
   • whd-persistence.jar
7. Start WHD.
   The hotfix is now installed.
