Managing IP addresses is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Essentials edition. IP Address Manager (IPAM) is also available in a standalone module.

New features and improvements in IPAM

Virtual network gateway monitoring, Virtual private cloud (VPC) monitoring, and site-to-site monitoring are now also available for AWS. Information about subnets is now also shown in the Cloud Instance Details page for both AWS and Azure.

IPAM 2023.2 is part of the IPAM and includes improvements and fixes from IPAM 2023.2.

IPAM 2023.2 is built on the IPAM and installed with the SolarWinds Installer.

Installation and upgrade

If you are on a version earlier than IPAM 2020.2.6, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2023.2. Before upgrading, see Considerations for upgrading from the Orion Platform to the SolarWinds Platform.

For information about installing IP Address Manager, see help for the SolarWinds Installer, and refer to the IPAM Getting Started Guide to learn about configuring and customizing IPAM.

Use the SolarWinds Installer to upgrade your entire IPAM deployment (all IPAM products and any scalability engines).

End of life

For modules based on IPAM 2020.2.6 and earlier, SolarWinds is announcing future end-of-life plans for your convenience. As always, SolarWinds recommends you upgrade to the latest version of your products at your earliest convenience.
