Monitor Dell PowerStore T arrays in SRM

Dell PowerStore T storage arrays are monitored through a RESTful onboard API.

For information on enabling the array, see the Enable a Dell PowerStore T array knowledge base article.

After the array is enabled, you can begin monitoring as described in Add your storage array for monitoring with SRM.

Supported versions and models

The minimum supported firmware for Dell PowerStore T is 3.0.0.

PowerStore T Series models are supported. PowerStore X Series have not been validated.

Architecture

PowerStore T appliances are grouped into a cluster and managed as a single storage system. A minimum of one PowerStore T appliance and a maximum of four PowerStore T appliances can be configured in the cluster.

Performance is aggregated from all appliances in the cluster through only one appliance can service a single volume in a specific period.

Dell PowerStore T model can be configured as unified or block-optimized.

Each appliance consists of two nodes that compose a High Availability (HA) pair operating in active/active mode.

Dell PowerStore T can be scaled up and out.

  • Scale up - expansion enclosures can be added to base enclosure to increase storage capacity. Each appliance in a PowerStore T cluster supports up to three NVMe expansion enclosures.

  • Scale out - add up to four PowerStore appliances in a single cluster.

Data Reduction (compression and deduplication) is always enabled and cannot be disabled.

Quota on file shares is available.

Volumes and file systems are thinly provisioned to optimize the use of the available storage. Thin provisioning is always enabled.

Hardware Health Monitoring is supported.
