Trust Summary
This AppInsight for Active Directory widget displays details about domain trust relationships on the Active Directory Application Summary page so you can:
- Visualize domain-to-domain communications.
- Determine which domains can access another domain's resources.
For example, if you use SolarWinds AppOptics, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product that allows deep dives into hybrid and cloud-native IT environments, you can configure a one-way Active Directory trust that allows AppOptics to log in to Active Directory resources hosted in a separate domain.
Use the drop-down list at the top of this widget to control the data that's displayed. Click the arrow (highlighted here) to change the sort order of trusts.
Drop-down list options include:
- Type: Filter trusts according to trustType attributes (© 2019, Microsoft Corp., available at docs.microsoft.com):
- Up Level
- Down Level
- MIT
- DCE
- Trusted Domain Name: Display trusted domains on the left and trusting domains on the right.
- Trusting Domain Name: Display trusting domains on the right and trusted domains on the left.
Arrows indicate the direction of trust.
Hover over a domain to display trust attributes, such as Non Transitive or Up Level Only.

Available actions
- Select an option in the drop-down list to control data displayed in the widget.
- Click the arrow next to the drop-down list to sort data in ascending or descending order.
- Search for domains by entering text and clicking the Search icon.
- Hover over a domain to display trust attributes.
- Click Edit to change the Title and Subtitle of the widget.
