Prepare the managed systems

Complete the following checklist on the managed systems. This checklist helps you verify that all managed systems are set up to receive updates from the WSUS server.

	1. Verify your system credentials	Ensure that you have sysadmin rights to all managed systems to populate the default credential ring.
	2. Enable File and Print Sharing	Ensure that File and Print Sharing is enabled on each system so they can receive and install software updates from the WSUS server. See the Microsoft Docs website or the operating system documentation for details.
	3. Enable WMI Inbound rules and check Remote Administration	Enable the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Inbound rules and ensure that Remote Administration Inbound is not blocked.
