New features and improvements in Patch Manager

New subscription license model

Patch Manager 2025.4 introduces a subscription-only licensing model.

General improvements

  • This release includes additional updates that improve the product security, stability and functionality

  • An update to Lenovo third-party package catalog now allows users to install the Lenovo 3PUP packages

Installation or upgrade

To install Patch Manager, see the Patch Manager Installation and Upgrade Guide. This guide describes how to plan for a production deployment and install Patch Manager in a supported Microsoft Windows Server environment.

If you are upgrading from an earlier version, see Upgrade Patch Manager in the Patch Manager Installation and Upgrade Guide for instructions. For supported upgrade paths, see Determine the Patch Manager upgrade path.

You must be on Patch Manager 2019.4 or later to upgrade to Patch Manager 2025.1. If you are on a version earlier than Patch Manager 2019.4 or earlier, first upgrade to 2019.4 and then upgrade to 2025.1.

End of life

Integration with the SolarWinds Platform requires a supported version of the platform.

2023.1 February 11, 2025: End-of-Life (EoL) announcement – Customers on Patch Manager version 2023.1 or earlier should begin transitioning to the latest version of Patch Manager. March 13, 2025: End-of-Engineering (EoE) – Service releases, bug fixes, workarounds, and service packs for Patch Manager version 2023.1 or earlier will no longer actively be supported by SolarWinds. March 13, 2026: End-of-Life (EoL) – SolarWinds will no longer provide technical support for Patch Manager version 2023.1.
