Patch Manager 2024.4 release notes

New features and improvements in Patch Manager

Amend saved or scheduled tasks

After you create and schedule a task to initiate procedures in your deployment, you can amend the task to include additional updates, such as critical updates. Deleting and recreating the task is no longer required.

Reinitiate third party package downloads

If your third party packages fail to download and publish due to web filtering or firewall rules, you can now click Retry in the console to reinitiate the procedure. Deleting and reinitiating the third party package download and publishing procedure is no longer required.

General improvements

  • Patch Manager 2024.4 includes updates that improve the product stability and functionality.

Fixed customer issues

Case number Description
00170916 After you publish a custom package to WSUS using Patch Manager, the Patch Manager Web Console now displays the correct values in the Installed and Needed columns.
00364807 The server publishing wizard no longer creates a new WSUS self-signed certificate when you select a custom or Enterprise Certificate of Authority (CA) for code signing.
00432603 When you apply approval delegation to a computer group, you can now deselect the option to apply permissions to all child computer groups.
00636988 An error no longer displays when you run a Windows Update scan on your managed systems.

Installation or upgrade

You must be on Patch Manager 2019.4 or later to upgrade to Patch Manager 2024.4. If you are on a version earlier than Patch Manager 2019.4 or earlier, first upgrade to 2019.4 and then upgrade to 2024.4.

End of life

Integration with the SolarWinds Platform requires a supported version of the platform.
