Google Cloud Platform monitoring
To monitor Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services from your cloud platform, integrate SolarWinds Observability SaaS with your GCP cloud account.
For a summary of your GCP accounts connected to SolarWinds Observability SaaS click Infrastructure in the side navigation. The Infrastructure area overview shows the health of all GCP entities and a summary table of your connected accounts, as well as other widgets that offer quick insights into your monitored GCP services. GCP services that provide cloud hosting are also summarized alongside other hosts in the Infrastructure area overview. See Host monitoring.
Metrics for GCP entities are also available as widgets in the Entity Explorer. GCP services that provide cloud hosting can also be found under the host category in the Entity Explorer.
For resources that are created with the multi-region option, the SolarWinds Observability SaaS UI displays the parent region instead of child regions. For example, the parent region US is displayed instead of the individual child regions us-east1, us-central1, and so on.
GCP entities
When the following GCP services are enabled in the GCP integration, an entity is created in SolarWinds Observability SaaS and available in the Entity Explorer.
GCP widgets
In addition to standard visualizations of metric data, the following widgets display detailed insights into your cloud accounts.
Details
On the Overview tab, the Details widget shows different information, depending on the specific type of GCP account selected in the Entity Explorer. Details may include cloud provider, account IDs and status, the native state, tags, and more.
Active Alerts
An overview of the active alerts triggered by GCP, categorized by severity. Active alerts are alerts that have been triggered but not cleared. This includes acknowledged alerts.
Top 5 Services by Critical Alerts
On the Entities tab, this widget shows five GCP services with the most critical alerts.
Top 5 Regions by Entities
On the entities tab, this widget shows five regions associated the most with the monitored GCP entities.
Top 10 Regions by Entities Count
On the Entities tab, this widget shows ten regions associated the most with the monitored GCP entities.
Top 10 Services by Entities Count
On the Entities tab, this widget shows ten services used most by the monitored GCP entities.
