Monitoring your applications and environment is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Essentials edition. Server & Application Monitor (SAM) is also available in a standalone module.

Allow time after assigning an application monitor template to a group in SAM

After you assign one or more SAM application monitor templates to a group, allow at least 5 to 10 minutes for SAM to update the SolarWinds Platformn database. The task may take longer if complex templates (for example, AppInsight for SQL) are involved.

To check the progress of templates being assigned to grouped nodes:

  1. Click Settings > All Settings in the menu bar.
  2. Under Node & Group Management, click Manage Groups.
  3. Click the group that you assigned templates to.

  4. On the Group Details page, examine the Application Templates Assigned to Group widget.

  5. If you do not notice progress, consider restarting SolarWinds Platform services.
