Additional requirements for Windows XP systems

If you are troubleshooting a system running Windows XP in a workgroup, configure the Windows XP Workgroup clients to allow WMI connections.

1. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) on the Windows XP system.
2. Expand:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
3. Select Lsa.
4. Change the value for forceguest DWORD to 0:
   1. In the right pane, select forceguest.
   2. Click the Edit menu, and then select Modify.
   3. Enter 0 into the text box.
   4. Click OK.
