Display restricted nodes on Network Atlas maps in the SolarWinds Platform for users with account limitations
This topic applies only to the following products:
SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted
DPAIM — EOC — NAM — NCM — NPM — NTA — SAM — SRM — UDT — VMAN — VNQM
Network Atlas is deprecated. SolarWinds recommends that you start using Intelligent Maps in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console to display maps of physical and logical relationships between entities monitored by the SolarWinds Platform products you have installed.
Additionally, you can import Network Atlas maps to Intelligent Maps.
If SolarWinds Platform Web Console users have account limitations that prevent them from seeing network nodes, set whether the users should see the restricted nodes on maps.
Users with restricted access to the nodes will only see the restricted nodes, but cannot retrieve any additional information about the nodes.
Hide nodes from users who have account limitations
- In Network Atlas, right-click any empty portion of the map, and select Map Properties.
- Select Remove Nodes That Users Do Not Have Permission to View.
Reveal nodes to all users
- In Network Atlas, right-click any empty portion of the map, and select Map Properties.
- Select Allow All Users to View All Nodes On This Map.
Users with account limitations, but with the permission to run and use the Network Atlas can change this setting in the map. To prevent this, do not give node management permissions to users who have account limitations.
