Database health state mapping

A set of health states is used to indicate the current status of your database connection and monitoring. Each state is mapped to a specific value, making it easier to understand and troubleshoot the health of your database integration. These states help you quickly identify whether your database is operating normally, requires setup, or is experiencing issues.

The following table lists all possible health states and their corresponding values.

You can see the health state of a database instance in that instance's details view. See Entity health for more information about how the health state is determined and how you can customize it.

Value State Details Suggested status
0 Invalid This state will be phased out in future releases. No action is required. Set to No impact
1 Uninitialized The monitoring plugin has not started yet. If it remains in this state for more than a few minutes, contact Support. Set to Moderate if stuck for more than a couple of minutes
2 Unsupported The configured database type is not supported. Contact Support for assistance. Bad
3 Disabled This state will be phased out in future releases. No action is required. Set to No impact
4 Initializing The monitoring feature is enabled but not fully running yet. If it stays in this state for more than a few minutes, contact Support. Set to Moderate if stuck for more than a couple of minutes
5 Canceled This state will be phased out in future releases. No action is required. Set to No impact
6 OK This state will be phased out in future releases. No action is required. Set to No impact
7 Setup Required Additional configuration is needed. The agent will keep polling until setup is complete. Bad
8 Temporary Failure The monitoring plugin is trying to reconnect to the database. Moderate
9 Failed Unable to connect to the database. Immediate attention is required. The connection will not be retried. Bad
10 Connection Failure Connecting to the database failed. The connection will be retried. Bad
