Minimize SNMP processing load during discoveries in the SolarWinds Platform using the Discovery Ignore List
Network discoveries often find devices you do not intend to monitor. Add the devices you do not want to monitor to the Discovery Ignore List to minimize the SNMP load associated with discovering devices not meant for monitoring.
- Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, and navigate to Settings > Network Discovery.
- Click Scheduled Discovery Results.
- Select devices you want to ignore, and click Add to Ignore List.
Use items in the Status and Group by lists to help you find devices.
The selected devices will not be discovered by the discovery.
Add ignored devices back to discovery
- Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, and navigate to Settings > Network Discovery.
- Click the Discovery Ignore List, and select the objects you want to monitor.
- Click Remove from Ignore List.
- Confirm that you want to stop ignoring selected items by clicking OK.
The devices removed from the list will be included in the discovery again.
